SDG 4 (Quality Education)

1. Read a Book TNCI/Hanging Libraries

There are more than 20 million out-of-school children in the country, according to a UNESCO 2022 report. But the quality of basic education in Nigeria has stuttered due to poor funding of state schools and lack of access to basic resources for children who are still in school. Through this initiative, our goal is to provide resource-friendly ‘hanging libraries’ made from fabric or clothing material that can be hung easily in classrooms to shelf. We believe these libraries are innovative and best attuned to the resource-constrained communities we are targeting through this project. So far, the initiative has established 50 hanging libraries and provided schools with more than 5,000 books in six states in Nigeria.

2. SDG Literacy Drive

Education is key to the global integrated framework of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which has been reaffirmed as a central concern by the United Nations and UNESCO. There is a direct relationship between childhood education and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. With this initiative, in partnership with REES Africa, our goal is to reach out to children through literature across Nigeria. To help them understand global issues, engage in SDGs, and become change makers. This is the time to Catch them YOUNG!

3. My Global Goal Mentorship Program: Raising Global Change Agents

Support our bid to mentor at least 10 children from our 20 schools each month towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through engaging projects, workshops and innovation labs that impact society. Since inception, we have mentored over 150 children. The organisation has also educated about 5,000 children and teenagers directly on the Sustainable Developmental Goals through talk sessions in schools and at SDG Essay Competition Grand Finales. We are also currently mentoring our 4th cohort of 17 Global Goal Ambassadors who make us proud with their exciting social impact projects and innovations. They are each influencing other students in their schools and setting great examples for them to follow.
